Hábito

Vigorous, tuberous climber to 3 m tall.

Características claves para su identificación

A very distinct species with large, entirely bright red flowers, these including prominent, spreading petals and a long spur. Also unique is its bright turquoise-blue, succulent fruits, which darken with age (Watson & Flores, 2010c).
