Distribución y habitat
Aristolochia juntucha is endemic to Coquimbo, Elqui province and has only been found on the Andacollo Plateau, where it occurs on north-facing hill slopes at 900–1,200 m elevation. It is found in thorny shrubs in the Chilean Mediterranean Interior Semi-Desert Scrub and Grassland (Luebert & Pliscoff, 2022), dominated by Leucostele chiloensis and Eulychnia acida, Calliandra chilensis, Bridgesia incisifolia, Proustia cuneifolia, and Gymnophyton robustum (Frank et al. 2026).

Notas
This species has previously been confused with A. pearcei, under the name A. bridgesii (Ruiz, 2001). While the transition from limb to tube forms a narrow groove in the flower of A. juntucha, it constitutes a comparably large and circular opening in both A. pearcei and A. vaginans (Frank et al, 2026).
