Distribución y habitat
This has an extensive north-south distribution in Central Chile but it is more abundant in the northern part of its range especially in coastal locations. It is found on dunes, dry grassy slopes, shrublands, and in Peumus boldus forests. It has an altitudinal range from sea level to1300 m (Aedo, et al., 2005).

Hábito
Perennial herbs 33–70 cm tall. Flowering January–December.
Características claves para su identificación
Geranium skottsbergii is easily distinguished by its deeply divided leaves with narrow lobes and relatively long petals. It may be confused with G. berteroanum, which has shorter petals and less divided leaves. Geranium core-core, which is also present in central Chile, has leaves that are less divided than G. skottsbergii, stems with shorter hairs and relatively wider sepals (Aedo et al, 2005)
