Regions
Distribution and habitat
There is just one known population of this species in the Region of Valparaíso at Pichicuy (sea-level to 40 metres). Occurs in a narrow zone on the leeward side of sand dunes and is associated with Ambrosia chamissonis, Solanum coquimbensis and Senecio bahioides (Morales-Fierro et al., 2020).

Key characteristics
Differs from S. litoralis subsp. litoralis in having distinctive purple venation at the base of all corolla lobes. The inferior corolla lobes are dark purple (Morales-Fierro et al., 2020).
