Distribution and habitat

Its distribution is from north of Domeyko (Region Atacama) to Andacollo (Region Coquimbo) where it occurs in the valleys of the precordillera on dry, hard soils on exposed sunny slopes from 900 to 2000 m above sea level.

Habit

Perennial up to 45 cm. Flowers in October and fruits from October to November

Key characteristics

It can be recognized by its erect and protruding upper tepals and by fine hairy on the stems.

Notes

Seed of this species is banked by the national seed bank of Chile, INIA.
