Distribution and habitat

This subspecies has a very restricted distribution just north of Los Vilos where on coastal plains with sandy-soils.

Habit

Perennial herb 30 to 50 cm tall. Flowers in October.

Key characteristics

It is possible to confuse this subspecies with that of ssp. recumbens due its similar habit, but it differs in only having faint yellow markings on the inside of the upper tepals and by having the characteristic dark markings on the lower tepal.
