Its distribution is centered in the northern areas of Tarapacá and Arica y Parinacota where it is widespread (Merklinger & Luebert, 2020).

Key characteristics

This species has an inconspicuous pappus of hairs that consists of minute scales (squamellae). Its leaves are extremely variable and range from linear-lanceolate with entire margins to irregularly toothed Merklinger & Ferderico, 2020).
