Distribution and habitat
This species has an extensive distribution of some 1700 kms, spanning the Regions of Coquimbo, Valparaíso, O’Higgins, Maule, Bío-Bío, Araucanía, Los Rios and Los Lagos. It is recorded from 5–20 metres above sea level rfrom near-ocean habitats and sand dunes and is rarely found in more interior habitats or at higher elevations (Dillon, 2023)
