Distribution and habitat
This species has an extensive distribution (800km) in the Regions of Antofagasta, Atacama, and Coquimbo and occuring from 5–780 metres above sea level. It is recorded from a wide variety of environments with sandy soils; near-coast habitats (Dillon, 2023).

Habit
Annual herb with prostrate, fleshy branches upto 1 m long.
Notes
Seed of this species is banked by the national seed bank of Chile, INIA.
