Distribution and habitat

It occurs between the provinces of Antofagasta and Elqui (25°-29° 50' lat. S), where it grows in sandy ravines near the coast, at about 500 metres above sea-level. Flowers from September to October.

Key characteristics

Similar to Chaetanthera moenchioides y Chaetanthera ramosissima, but is distinguished by its leaves having soft (floccose)and woolly hairs, (Davies 2010)

Notes

Seed of this species is banked by the national seed bank of Chile, INIA.
