Distribution and habitat
Found in the Andes in the provinces of Santiago and Cordillera (33°15’-33°30’ lat. S), between 2000-4000 m above sea level. It grows among rocks above the snow line. Flowers from January to February.

Habit
Annual or possibly perennial herb with flowering stems up to 8 cm long.
Key characteristics
Similar to Chaetanthera flabellifolia and Chaetanthera splendens but easily identifiable by the leaves kidney-shaped leaves which are shallowly lobed.
