Distribution and habitat

Occurs between the provinces of Chañaral and Cachapoal (27° 50'-34° 20' lat. S), from 150-2300 metres above sea-level. It grows in dry and sunny areas on screes, grassy hillsides used for grazing, roadside banks and in habitats where there is little competition from other plants. Flowers from September to March.

Key characteristics

Similar to Chaetanthera albiflora and a hybrid between C. linearis x albiflora. It is can be distinguished by its yellowish-coloured flowers and by its leaves which are glabrous and glaucous (Davies 2010).
