Distribution and habitat

This species occurs between the provinces of Chañaral and Choapa (26° 40'-31° 40' lat. S), in the Cordillera de la Costa and the foothills of the Andes, between 800-2200 metres above sea-level. Grows in gravelly valley slopes and on dry riverbeds. Flowers from October to January.
