Distribution and habitat

This species has a limited distribution. One site is near to Punta Arenas on the Península de Brunswick and two sites are in Torres del Paine National Park. It grows in a variety of habitats including on open, north-facing calcareous slopes which are exposed to seasonal moisture and by contrast also growing in the middle of an inundated lake (Wheeler, 2002)
