Distribution and habitat
Only known from a few sites at a very restricted area in the high Andes of the Tarapacá Region of northern Chile in the head of Guatacondo gorge from 4100 to 4350 m. This area is located close to the western limit of the Altiplano region, which is characterized by a pronounced summer rainfall season. The habitat is dominated by cushion-forming plants such as Oxychloe andina, Phylloscirpus deserticola and Deyeuxia curvula and Festuca spp.. Along the edges of this habitat, scrub vegetation is dominated by Parastrephia lucida. (Saldivia et al. 2021).
