Distribution and habitat
This species has a relatively limited distribution from Cerros Caquis (Region Valparaiso) to the coastal at Pichilemu (Region O'Higgins). It occurs from sea level to 1000 m.

Habit
Perennial to more than 1 m tall. Flowers from November to January. Fruits from December to January.
Key characteristics
This subspecies has a vigorous growth habit, and the red-orange flowers are very striking and distinguish it from most other Alstroemeria species.
Notes
Seed of this species is banked by the national seed bank of Chile, INIA.
