Del General Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins and Maule

Distribution and habitat

This subspecies has a restricted distribution from La Estrella (34°15'S) in the Región de O'Higgins, until Cauquenes (36°00'S) in Región del Maule. It occurs in the coastal cordillera and the central depression between sea level and 200 m.

Habit

Perennial herb up to 45 cm tall. Flowers in November.

Key characteristics

A. diluta ssp. diluta has a little or no yellow stripe, compared to that of A. diluta ssp. chrysantha which has a broad band of yellow.

Notes

Seed of this species is banked by the national seed bank of Chile, INIA.
