Regions
Distribution and habitat
Restricted distribution to Region VIII (province of Concepción) and Region IX (province of Malleco). In Parque Nacional Nahuelbuta (at 1400m) it grows amongst rocks in Araucaria forest with Nothogaus antarctica, Maytenus magellanica and Libertia tricocca. At its lowest altitde of 625 m (close to Maitenrehue) it occurs on dry slopes adjacent to poorly drained soils with Drimys winteri, Desfontainia fulgens, Escallonia virgata and Pitavia punctata.

Evergreen sbrub to 1-2 m tall
Key characteristics
This is the only evergreen species of Ribes in Chile; the leaves are lanceolate and sessile
