Distribution and habitat
Original herbarium material provide little location information other than “Prov. Concepción, Cordillera Nahuelbuta prope Puren”. This species has not been recollected since the original description, and because the habitat has been radically modified during the past century, one can only assume that P. monocephalus may well now be extinct!
