Distribution and habitat
Nolana villosa has a relatively wide distribution, spanning an altitudinal range of from 55 to 4200 m and grows in very sandy and rocky substrate.
Habit
Subshrubs to shrubs, 10-30 cm tall, 30-200(-900) cm in diameter.

Seed of this species is banked by the national seed bank of Chile, INIA.
