Distribution and habitat
This species is recorded from the Regions of Antofagasta, Atacama, and Coquimbo from; 0–200(–780) metres above sea level. It grows in sandy/rocky soils, near-coast habitats or, more rarely, from more inland sites (Dillon, 2023)

Habit
Annual to, more typically, perennial herbs, tap root fleshy; branches straight, prostrate, 40–60 cm long (Dillon, 2023).
Notes
Seed of this species is banked by the national seed bank of Chile, INIA.
