Distribution and habitat
It has an extensive distribution of over 800 kms spanning the Regions of Antofagasta, Atacama, and Coquimbo from 10–780 (-1500) metres above sea level. It is recorded from a wide variety of environments in the coastal matorral but more rarely it can occur at higher, inland elevations (Dillon. 2023).

Habit
Annual herb (growing from a fleshy tap root) with prostrate branches 30–40 cm long.
Notes
Seed of this species is banked by the national seed bank of Chile, INIA.
