Distribution and habitat

Grows in the middle latitudinal range of the species mostly in the Paipote and San Andrés Ravines above 1000m (Bull-Hereñu, 2020).

Habit

Subshrub to 80 cm tall.

Key characteristics

Differs from var. solanoides and var. rugosa by having white flowers (vs. light blue to violet). It differs from var. ovata (which also has white flowers) by having oblong to lance-shaped leaves (vs. egg-shaped (ovoid) to oblong) that area almost hairless (vs. dense matted hairs)
