Distribution and habitat

Only known from the Tumbes Peninsula in the Biobío Region. It grows in clearings of the coastal sclerophyllous forest dominated by Lithrea caustica and two introduced plantation species - Cupressus macrocarpa and Pinus radiata. Other native associated shrubby species include : Baccharis vernalis, Calceolaria integrifolia, Gaultheria insana, Ugni molinae and Teucrium bicolor.
