Distribution and habitat
This grass has a very widespread distribution in Chile. On Continental Chile it is typically found in meadows and on hillsides and is often occurrs in dry, hard, clay soils. On Robinson Crusoe Island (Masatierra) it often forms isolated clumps on rocky slopes and in dry areas but also in more humid habitats from low to medium altitudes (Pennekamp, 2018).
