Distribution and habitat

This species occurs in the regions of Antofagasta and Atacama, at elevations of 0 to 1,300 m asl. It is found from Caleta Colorada to Pan de Azúcar National Park.

Seed of this species is banked by the national seed bank of Chile, INIA.
