Restricted to central Chile from Antofagasta south to Santiago.

Key characteristics
This variable species is usually easily distinguished from all other South American species by its leaves which have bifurcate auricles combined with pink flowers with corollas 2–2.5 cm long.
Notes
Seed of this species is banked by the national seed bank of Chile, INIA.
