Distribution and habitat

Found from the Tarapacá Region, in the provinces of Iquique and El Tamarugal, to the Atacama Region, in the provinces of Chañaral and Huasco. It grows in open areas and is sometimes very abundant locally (Teillier & Ibáñez (2025))

Notes

Seed of this species is banked by the national seed bank of Chile, INIA.
