Distribution and habitat
Restricted to the locality of San Fabián de Alico in the Punilla Province where only one site is known on Cerro Alto el Padre, between 1580 and 1640 m above sea level. It mainly occurs on the north-east face of the Cerro Alto el Padre, and just above the tree line. It usually grows in crevices or at the bottom of boulders. It occurs in Andean Mediterranean deciduous forest belt consisting of Nothofagus obliqua and Austrocedrus chilensis (Menegoz et al., 2024)

Habit
Stoloniferous evergreen shrub prostrate to ascendant 20–66 cm tall. Flowering from March to April, fruit ripening from November to December.
