Type citation

“Hab. in Peruviae?” The locations of the collections of Haenke are often wrong and this species is an example. As this species in endemic to Chile it is thought that the type locations was collected in the Chilean Andes during Heanke’s journey from Mendoza to Santiago in 1790. (PR: Holotype)

Distribution and habitat

Restringida a la Cordillera de los Andes de la Región Valparaíso entre el río Chilon (provincia de San Felipe) y Saladillo (provincia de Los Andes). Se crece desde 2200 a 3100 metros en cascajo suelto de cordillera
