Semidesert, Semiarid Andean cordillera, Mediterranean, Coastal matorral and Mountain matorral & sclerophyllous forest

Distribution and habitat

Very wide distribution from the coastal hills of the province of Quillota (32°50'S), Región de Valparaíso, to the province of Melleco (38°15'S) in Región Araucanía. This species has the greatest altitudinal range from sea level to 2500 m.

Habit

Perennial plant up yo 1 m tall. Flowering from December to February.

Key characteristics

Difficult to confuse with other species because of its small and dense umbel of flowers and the tepals are swept backwards (Muñoz-Schick & Moreira-Muñoz, 2003).

Notes

Seed of this species is banked by the national seed bank of Chile, INIA.
