Distribution and habitat

Inhabits the northern distribution part of the species in a ca. 100km north-south distribution between Quebrada Encantada and Llano de Varas in the desert shrublands between 1000–3000 m above sea level (Bull-Hereñu, 2020).

Habit

Subshrub up to 80 cm tall.

Key characteristics

Differs from var solanoides & var. rugosa by having white flowers (vs. light blue to violet). It differs from oblongifolia (also with white flowers) by having yellowish, dense matted hairs throughout (Bull-Hereñu, 2020).
